Help Desk Professional
The primary function of the Help Desk Professional is to provide first-level technical support for our clients in a timely and efficient manner.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide first level support for internal employees and client end-users.
- Responsible for answering and resolving all incoming phone calls and email requests during initial contact.
- Log all client requests, incidents and issues into our IT Service Management System.
- Assist with defining and documenting Help Desk Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Assist with projects as needed.
Successful candidate will need to:
- Be proficient in installing, configuring, servicing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Vista desktop operating systems, and Microsoft Office 200x applications;
- Have basic practical understanding of local and wide area network infrastructure (routers, firewalls, switches, gateways, DNS servers, DHCP servers, etc.), VPN/remote access, and anti-virus software;
- Be able to communicate with clients via telephone, email, and person-to-person moderately complex or technical information, compose correspondence and reports;
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and team skills.
- Think logically and act decisively in critical situations;
- Demonstrate sound troubleshooting skills and have the desire to follow a problem through to resolution.
Systems Engineer I and II (Microsoft)
Primary function of a System Engineer is the implementation and technical support and service of Microsoft network infrastructure assets.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Analysis, design, consulting, integration, installation and technical support and service of our clients’ network infrastructure, especially Microsoft Windows 200x servers and end-user devices;
- Design and implementation of infrastructure-related aspects of strategic and tactical projects.
Successful candidate will need to:
- Have strong practical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Microsoft Windows Server 200x, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 200x administration;
- Have written and verbal communication skills, and experience in making presentations to technical and non-technical audiences;
- Have effective organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Think logically and act decisively in critical situations;
- Have Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer 2003 (MCSE), equivalent certification or equivalent practical, verifiable experience.
Network Engineer I and II
Primary function of a network engineer is the management and administration of key LAN/WAN/WLAN voice, data and video infrastructure systems.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Configuring, installing and troubleshooting network data, voice or video infrastructure equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, SSL accelerators, telco lines, etc.) according to industry best practices;
- Configuring, installing and servicing/supporting network and IT security systems, standard OS and hardware maintenance, provisioning of new equipment, working with vendor technical support;
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks;
- Monitoring of systems to ensure optimum performance;
- Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network problems.
Successful candidate will need to:
- Have practical knowledge of data, voice or video administration, routing and switching;
- Evaluate network performance and traffic analysis to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations;
- Be willing and able to constantly learn and explore new technologies;
- Possess excellent communications and customer service skills, professional appearance and demeanour;
- Be able to learn and adapt rapidly to a changing environment;
- Have excellent problem solving capabilities.
Techical certifications (Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CIPT, CCVP) or equivalent practical experience are highly valued.
